Holmes Academy to Celebrate Count Day with STEM Fun and School Spirit

A.L. Holmes Academy of Blended Learning is excited to welcome families and students to a special Count Day celebration on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Count Day is an important day for our school, and we are making it meaningful and fun with engaging, hands-on learning experiences focused on STEM, discovery, and creativity.

On this day, students will enjoy a science show sponsored by Mad Science Detroit, featuring interactive experiments designed to spark curiosity and bring science concepts to life in an exciting and age-appropriate way.

To add to the celebration, students are invited to participate in our school spirit theme, “Mad Scientist Hair Day.” Students may come to school with a creative or silly “mad scientist” hairstyle to show their enthusiasm and school pride.

Students are also encouraged to wear their A.L. Holmes Academy spirit wear. Those who do will be entered into a raffle, adding an extra element of fun to the day.

Most importantly, we encourage all families to ensure students are present and on time for Count Day. Student attendance plays a vital role in supporting our school and helps ensure continued success for our programs.

We look forward to a day filled with learning, laughter, and school pride as we show that attendance truly is the formula for success.
